Tapi Walalupun diangkat dari sebuah komik namun sebetulnya film ini benar2 di adaptasi dari sejarah nyata yang terjadi pada masa itu. Menceritakan tentang invasi kedua pasukan Persia yang dipimpin Raja Xerxes dalam peperangan besar yang disebut pertempuran Thermopylae, melanjutkan perjuangan sanga ayah yatu Raja Darius setelah kalah dalam pertempuran Marathon.
